Viridor

Viridor Credits has been set up in partnership with Viridor Waste Management (operators of The Parkwood Landfill Site at Neepsend Sheffield) to administer funding generated via the Landfill Tax Credits Scheme.

Viridor Waste Management is one of the UK’s leading waste management companies. Currently operating 21 regional landfill sites, regional recycling facilities and over 80 waste processing sites UK-wide, the company provides a full range of waste management services. These include recycling, incineration, wet and dry waste collection, site restoration, and safe and efficient landfill disposal. Viridor has recently won industry awards for the best-run waste facilities in two out of four years.

The company’s sites are accredited to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, the highest recognised international standard. This ensures continual improvement in environmental performance and provides assurance to customers and communities alike.

An independent selection panel for Viridor Credits-Sheffield meet quarterly to assess the various project applications that have been put forward. Due to the amount of funding available it is impossible to fund all of the projects.

Viridor Credits feel the fairest way to select which projects receive funding is to have the panel working to clear funding guidelines. The panel is made up of individuals with relevant expertise within the Sheffield area to assess each project against the agreed criteria.
